We are looking forward to having different forms of wave heading toward us to show the creative imagination about "Tianya"(the Chinese words of frontier,which is also a local scenic spot), so that when we talk about "Tianya", it reminds us of Hainan. Therefore, we will be here waiting for every "frontier Rover", to tell us what you think about the city of Hainan, based on the theme, with culture and creativity, so that the local cultural industry can be further developed.

Design the IP image and complete scheme taking Hainan culture as the background, combined with the features of local island culture in Hainan, and design the IP image belonging to Hainan culture (including IP story, character setting background, etc.), and drive the development of Hainan’s island culture with creative cultural design works. The suggested contents include but are not limited to animation images, emoji, graphic design, derivatives, serial posters, souvenirs, etc.

Combined with the local features and deeply excavated local culture of Hainan, create creative cultural design works, and customize the design and planning schemes for the existing featured products and industries in Hainan. Requested contents include but not limited to the complete scheme of upgrading packaging design and the implementation and promotion of derivatives, the operation scheme of related brand upgrading and other excellent works aimed at driving the development of local featured product industries.

Taking Hainan culture as the starting point, designers can choose a scene by themselves (the specific point information package will be continuously updated on the aim official website) to jointly think about how to inherit regional culture with the power of art. The design form is optional, not limited to various forms such as architecture, landscape, sculpture, installation or artistic works. The design should be based on the practical feelings brought by marine culture and tropical islands, create an innovative place spirit, stimulate people's possibilities about ocean, nature, life and philosophy, and consider the feasibility reasonably.

Tide, the waves of the sea lapping at the shore, the climate that permeates the island, and especially a portrayal of Hainan's humanities. The Hainan spirit of “dare to try and dare to be the first”, has led the trend of competing for the first place again and again. In this event, we hope to take advantage of the "symbiosis" foundation of Hainan International Cultural and Creative Week to invite you to go to a city and a sea, and to pursue the most unique cultural and creative wave in a design journey full of countless possibilities.

With the theme of Cultrual and Creative Hainan, the Tide from Frontier, this competition will explore the value of Hainan's culture and develop the characteristics of Hainan's cultural identity in depth. Through different forms, combined with cultural concepts and creativity, the cultural connotation of the south of China's islands is mixed into cultural and creative products. Taking Hainan's unique climatic conditions, natural resources, and humanities as nutrients, it naturally grows distinctive and marketable cultural and creative works, so as to jointly export unique Hainan culture and create an original brand of cultural and creative events facing toward the world.

The competition will set up three tracks: "IP image design", "Cultural and creative product design" and "New urban scene design". It is hoped that the participants will gather innovative forces to form representative cultural and creative design works and help build a new cultural ecology of Hainan free trade port.

Submission requirements

Submit entries on the official website of aim competition before 23:59 on September 30, 2021.
1. Registration form (the template of the information form is provided in the download materials. Aim official website: www.aim-competition. Com).
2. Work scheme (the specific information package will be continuously updated on the aim official website)
*IP image design works: IP design related overall scheme, IP story description and landing promotion plan, which are displayed in the form of PPT or PDF;
*Cultural and creative product design works: the overall scheme related to product design, product landing promotion scheme, etc. shall be displayed in the form of PPT or PDF;
2. * new urban scene design works: A1 (841mm) × 594mm) not less than 2 drawings. The design scheme submission includes but is not limited to plan, elevation, section, effect and analysis drawings and picture data that can fully express the design concept (the picture is in JPG format, the accuracy is not less than 150dpi, and there are no special requirements for plate layout, which can be self-defined).
3. Please submit your creative ideas, creative sketches, working photos and other creative process materials at the same time (the pictures are in JPG format and the accuracy is not less than 150dpi). The scale and size shall be in metric units. The plates, pictures and drawings shall be submitted in JPG format. The size of a single A1 drawing shall not exceed 50m.
4. Optional submission of content video (2-4 minutes): in order to better present the intention of the work, you can submit a short video, including the appearance of team members, and describe the design idea of the work in combination with the exhibition board. The form is unlimited. The video format is MPEG, MP4 and avi.
