Stephen Leong Chun Hong
Contemporary Neo-Nanyangist painter, originally from Gangzhou, Xinhui, Guangdong.
Born in Singapore in 1951, he received his BFA from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore, and his MA in Visual Arts and Design from Nottingham Polytechnic University, U.K. He taught as a senior lecturer at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts / Lhasa College of Art from 1994 to 2018. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from RMIT University, Australia in 1996. He is currently the President of the Singapore Ruhua Artists' Association, the President of the Singapore Fine Arts Federation from 2007 - 2021, the Overseas Advisor of the Art Institute of Beijing Xu Bei's Painting Institute, the Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Program in the Humanities and Social Sciences of Singapore's Sun Yew University from 2011 - 2013, and the Director of the Beijing National Treasure Painting and Calligraphy Institute from 2014 - 2016. - He was selected by Beijing Rongbaozhai in 2014 for a solo exhibition of famous artists from overseas. Mr. Liang is currently the President of the Singapore Fine Arts Federation, Chairman of the Singapore Artists Association, and Vice President (Singapore Executive Chairman) of the World Federation of Chinese Artists (H.K.).
