Facing Reality

Introduction:

The artwork is based on a fictional time in the distant human future where technology has drastically improved. Shown in the architecture in the background. Though the colors are slightly monotone and bland to reflect how the color scheme of the world is turning more and more dead. The main focal point of the artwork is Facing Reality. As it shows humans starting to replant what seems to be what's last of the plantation race. The design of the plant regulators are original as no online references were used. The suits for the planters are inspired by radioactive suits, and the smile is a reference to how humanity can look at the positive side of things in desperate times. At the bottom of the artwork are trash and waste collectors. The ocean provides more than 50% of the world’s oxygen, so humanity might be keen to do drastic cleanups of the ocean. The designs of the collectors are just based on movie vault doors. There is also acid rain raining down on the city to show the impacts of pollution. The artwork is based on drawing many individual sections of the piece, cutting them and pasting them together. Once the overall outline and pencil to marker drawing of the artwork is done, the artwork was photographed and continued online. The coloring process was done on an ipad using the “Color Scape” app.
